I am updating our website today with new pictures and also SK Horses Foals for sale.
Busy summer we have some nice babies for sale this year. Prices are at their lowest.

just a quick update

The end of last week was wet and busy. We lost one of our best mares the beginning of the week. The foal was dead inside her and we had to put her down. It was a very sad thing to do but she was suffering...so the hard decision was made.
On Tuesday 5-12 our cremello mare Kadie foaled a palomino stud colt out of Peppy.
Then we waited until 5-15 which was not the best day to be foaling outside. If you remember it rained all day and was cold. Not a good day to be born... but mother nature had other plans.
Three first foalers decided it was their time. Gee Gee, Carrie, and PK all foaled.
As soon as it drys out I will get pictures and post them.

H was born yesterday

kadie had a Palomino Stud colt Tuesday. Big Blaze on his head. Pretty sharp. Performance prospect deluxe.

Sis Had a Cremello Filly

To end Mothers day we have a new cremello filly out of Sis and Colonel.
Her name will start with G.

Grulllo filly from Faith

Faith and Peppy had a grullo filly. She is the newest addition today.
Check her out. Name starting with F.

Mindy had a Red Dun Filly

Mindy and Peppy had a red dun filly. Cute small little head, nice shape. Cute little girl. Need a name starting with E.

Cala Had a Dun Stud Colt

And I thought there would be no foals today.
We have 3 new ones on the ground today. Here is the first ~ Dun Stud out of Cala and Max.
Cute guy...small head, big soft eyes, low swirl.

A needs a name

Here is a he's a buckskin colt that also needs a name. Any suggestions?

B Needs a name

Need some help naming this filly. Here is a picture of her she's got a nice head and really starting to bloom.

No babies today so far!!!

Don't know what is with the mares. They are taking their own sweet time foaling this year. The babies should be coming on strong right now.

Palomino Stud colt ~ very flashy

New foal today. Ramona had a palomino stud colt. Blaze with four white socks. Long legs...he's probably thinking it's good to be out in the world where I can stretch

B was born Today

We had a sorrel filly out of Sweetie today. Her sire is Harlons Big Mac.
Rainy day foal.
Need a B name!!

New baby over the weekend.

Circle Bar J Ranch had it's first foal of the year. Our Red Roan filly ( Winny) had a first foal....buckskin stud colt out of Harlons Two Eyed Spirit.
I will post a picture as soon.

Any name suggestion? ...needs to start with an A.

AQHA Southeast Iowa Breeder's sale this summer!!!

Plan to attend AQHA Southeast Iowa Breeder's sale this summer!!!

The Sale will be held the weekend of June 20 and 21st.
Circle Bar J, SK Horses Ltd, and Helling Quarter Horses will be showcasing their new 2009 foals and also will be selling an assortment of yearlings, two year olds, and a few started riding geldings.

It will be held at the River Valley Horse Camp in Farmington, Iowa. If you trail ride and like to camp you need to visit this campground. It is adjacent to Shimek State Forest.. Miles of trails to ride.

Of course our new foals will be out in the pastures with their dams but we will have pictures and pedigrees. Good time to set up an appointment to view the 09 foals.

The older colts and fillies will be in pens at the campgound for buyers to view and I will also webcam the sale at our internet site http://www.aqhaseiowa.com.

We know times are tough but don't give up what is important to you.

Counting the days

Today is April 15 2009.
Spring is just around the corner.
The mares are showing signs of getting ready to foal.

Colonel our palomino stallion is pictured here.
He's not broke to ride but as you can see getting on him in a pasture full of mares and babies is no big deal.
